German Village is located just south of downtown Columbus. This immigrant community built in the 1830s and 40s became an historic district in the 1970s and is now filled with restored homes, quaint shops, restaurants, and more. The nearby Brewery District got its name from small family-owned breweries that were sprinkled throughout, but today it features restaurants and redevelopment. Ohio is also home to The Ohio Statehouse, built between the years 1839 and 1861 in the Greek Revival style, Ohio Theater, 2,779-seat Spanish-Baroque masterpiece, complete with its own orchestra and theatre organ, Hocking Hills, region just south of Columbus known filled with picturesque terrain and beautiful rocky gorges and sandstone cliffs more than 300 million years old, as well as numerous other landmarks.
